Goal of the Job:
Lead a team of quality professionals to be accountable for global quality strategy, systems, operation compliance and excellence responsibility initiatives covering facilities in China, Portugal, Dominican Republic and India with a total workforce of 6,000 utilizing service delivery model consisted of total quality system in alignment with Hayco’s co-innovation business model and strategy.
The Vice President of Quality will be responsible for designing, developing comprehensive Quality Systems for Hayco and systematically drive improvements making Quality as a competitive advantage.
(This role's location can be open to talk, Shenzhen or Hong Kong or Dominican or Portugal.)
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop the global quality culture, strategy and programs corporate in alignment with Hayco co-innovation business model and cascade them to monthly tactical actions in support of business plan within the value of Hayco Way within budget and resources provided at Corporate and site levels.
- Integrate total quality system and apply statistical methodology and programs from product creation to day to day production (NPI to Daily Operation), esp in the contract manufacturing environment for consumer products
- Provide leadership guidance to Quality Operations in China, Portugal, Dominican Republic and India and possible future sites to corporate targets by defining and implementing the “Global Hayco System” including sustainability and latest elements in total quality system. Update and implement actions and improvement according to the latest requirement for accreditation, certification, international compliance and audits especially in sustainability and risk management
- Lead the talent development initiative for Hayco and continue to sustain the quality and excellence model by bring to life of adopted quality systems and training. Set standards, KPI and process KPI and develop key process owners to sustain Hayco Quality System.
- Represent the company well is strategic engagements with both customers and suppliers. Develop personal relationships with executives at key customers and suppliers.
- Establish statistically methodology and tools schemes in the apply the relevant qualify system in managing supply chain.
- Work with Engineering function and manage AQE (including set up and maintain testing labs) to set up qualification standard, testing protocol, product test plan, design testing equipment and implement the testing according to the business and customers’ expectations.
Job Requirements:
- At least 15 years of quality and engineering work experience covering large scale labor intensive factory environment, of which 5 years assuming a senior position covering a large spectrum of quality and engineering work and huge magnitude of seasonal business fluctuation in multiple geographical locations.
- Worked in either several regional functions of quality department, Engineering, NPI, R&D functions. Have a successful track records of launching new products, qualifying new start up or business transfer. Experienced working with multiple cultures and locations such as Asia (China, India), Europe and America’s.
- Professional certification in overall Quality or Engineering Management, business and operations skills.
- Able to integrate and manage when M&A opportunities arise
- Ability to travel globally, expect this role to spend the time 1/3 in DR, 1/3 in Europe, 1/3 in China
- Proficiency in multiple languages – English, Mandarin, Spanish will be added advantages
Knowledge:
- Experienced as a Senior Leadership Team leader with proven history designing and implementing global quality processes.
- Ability to translate customer and business needs into value added quality process in operations, engineering and business services.
- Experience in NPI and Engineering function is a definite advantage
- Must have successfully registered manufacturing operations to ISO and consumer goods and air products quality systems standards in a Global Manufacturing environment
- A problem solver with Certified Quality Engineer, 6-Sigma/Lean Black belt credentials and a proven track record of hands-on problem solving
- Ease of navigating and communication both with production operators and board members.
- Experienced systems auditor with a track record of both identifying system gaps and then closing them
- Must have an outstanding history of successful system audits and customer interface.
- Must have successful history leading, evaluating, and controlling change management.
- Successful background in supply chains, operations, or engineering in addition to quality management
- Proficiency in multiple computing platforms -- SAP, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Minitab, and eQMS such as Master Control.
- Strong business and cross-cultural knowledge and able to apply it to resolve both business and new product or new business launch issues.
- Quality and Global Compliance knowledge in various geographical location and multiple business categories (medical, fast consumerable goods; labor intensive assembling model will be of advantages)
